A jar on the shelf, checked now and then. Nothing written down properly, no baseline to compare against, no clear protocol for what counts as a pass or a fail.
It's understandable. Stability testing isn't usually taught alongside formulation, and the protocols that do exist online are often pulled together from supplier blogs that don't quite agree with each other.
By the end of next week, you've run a full freeze-thaw study on a real formulation. The baseline is documented. The cycles are tracked. The result is interpreted using the criteria you'll learn inside the training.
It's the same approach used in professional R&D, scaled down to fit a home or small-batch setup, with the equipment you already have.
In ten years of teaching, I've seen the same three situations come up again and again. They each look slightly different on the surface, but underneath, the question is the same: how do I actually start running stability tests properly?
If any of that sounds familiar, you're in exactly the right place.
I've been working in R&D at a luxury cosmetics brand for many years. Stability testing is the part of the job that underpins everything. Without it, no formulation makes it out of the lab.

I've been working in R&D at a luxury cosmetics brand for many years. Stability testing is the part of the job that underpins everything. Without it, no formulation makes it out of the lab.
Why is stability testing so important? It's very simple: it's the part of formulation that decides whether your product is actually safe to sell, BUT it's the part that almost nobody teaches well. Most home and small-batch formulators learn formulation from recipes and YouTube videos, then hit a wall the moment someone serious asks how the product was tested.
I built this training because I want to help you with it. Talented formulators with gorgeous products but with no working validation system. You know it matters, right? But perhaps you don't know where to begin. Many of the protocols online don't fit, professional courses cost thousands and assumes lab access.
So I took the framework I use in my own R&D work, scaled it down to a home or small-batch setup, and built a training that walks you through one full test from baseline to interpretation. That's the Stability Testing Starter System. This is how I would help someone new to stability studies get started with testing.

The same five-stage framework I use for every stability study, taught one stage at a time, then applied to a complete freeze-thaw test from baseline to interpretation. You'll know what to set up, what to measure, what to look for at each cycle, and how to read the result when it's done. Watch immediately, watch as many times as you need, no expiry on access.
A reference covering the nine main stability tests and which ones apply to which product categories. Cream, serum, mask, shampoo, body butter, lip balm, sunscreen, hair styling product, perfume. Each one mapped to its recommended test protocol, so you stop running tests that don't apply to what you're formulating.
A pre-built document that walks you through the freeze-thaw test from baseline to final result. Setup checklist, baseline measurements page, six cycle observation pages, full final measurement comparison, and a built-in interpretation guide. Designed to be used over and over, on every formulation you ever test.

Think about the next batch you make. By the end of next week, you could have a real stability test running on it, with the documentation in front of you, and the framework to apply to whatever you formulate after that.
